The banners are fluttering, igniting the blood; youth is like fire, competing with sharpness. From April 17th to 18th, the 2025 sports meeting of our university was grandly held at the track and field of the South Campus.
At 8 a.m. on the 17th, the opening ceremony officially began. Party Secretary Chen Liang, President Wang Yongqin, Party Committee Deputy Secretary Ji Lihuai, Vice President Yao Zhenjun, Vice President Feng Baoqiang, and Discipline Inspection Secretary Li Huilin attended the ceremony. The heads of each college and relevant departments also participated in the opening ceremony. Chen Liang declared the opening of the 2025 sports meeting of Shijiazhuang University.
Amid the majestic march of the athletes, the flag guard, with an imposing presence, entered the venue first. The school flag team, the colorful flag team and the bouquet team followed closely behind. The referees' representative team marched steadily and powerfully. The athletes' representative team had a resounding slogan and a powerful momentum, demonstrating an energetic and positive spirit.
Wang Yongqin delivered the opening speech. She pointed out that the annual spring sports meeting is a practical platform for teachers and students to build up their physical strength, a concentrated inspection of the achievements of health education, and a vivid display of the spirit of Shijiazhuang University. She hoped that all the athletes would uphold the Olympic spirit of "Faster, Higher, Stronger - Together", strive hard, forge ahead, perform at their best and show their best style. She also hoped that all the coaches and referees would provide meticulous guidance and considerate services, abide by the rules and make fair judgments. She further hoped that all the teachers and students would actively participate, unite and cooperate, watch the games civilly and cheer enthusiastically. She hoped that the whole school would take this sports meeting as an opportunity to transform the fighting spirit on the field into the enthusiasm for doing business, gather the powerful synergy of "working together", sound the clarion call of "setting out again", and in the vigorous practice of the school's "1396" development strategy, scale new heights, tackle difficulties together, make innovative breakthroughs and achieve new accomplishments, and in the new journey of accelerating the construction of a first-class applied university, play a powerful note of unity and progress in the times.
At the opening ceremony, the Sunshine Sports Group gymnastics teams from each college took the stage in turn, presenting a visually stunning feast to the entire audience. Each participating team was ingenious and creative, vividly interpreting the unique charm of their respective colleges with an energetic spirit, dynamic dance choreography and professional performance forms. The precise and accurate movements of the students burst forth with the vitality of youth, and the uniform formation changes demonstrated the team's tacit understanding, presenting the combination of strength and beauty to the fullest.
Subsequently, the two-day sports meeting officially kicked off. More than 1,200 faculty and staff athletes and over 3,000 student athletes gathered at the competition venue, throwing themselves into various competitions with full enthusiasm and high spirits. They unite and strive hard, vying for the lead. Every agile figure is interpreting the charm of sports, and every drop of sweat they shed is writing a chapter of hard work. The entire sports field is filled with a touching atmosphere of passion and vitality.
On the afternoon of the 18th, after all the competition events were completed, the sports meeting was successfully concluded. School leaders presented awards to the winning colleges and teams. Chen Liang delivered the closing speech. He pointed out that this sports meeting was lively, harmonious, safe and wonderful. It was a sports feast that was both enjoyable and educational, fostering friendship, boosting morale and uniting the hearts of all. The teachers and students have submitted an outstanding report card with both excellent competitive performance and good sportsmanship. He emphasized that all departments and colleges should take this sports meeting as an opportunity to further unify their thoughts and reach a consensus, firmly establish the concept of "cultivating people through sports and nurturing the heart through sports", continuously strengthen and improve sports work in the new era, improve the "all-round education" mechanism, implement the measures of integrating the five educations, and create a vivid situation of "everyone exercising, daily sports, and a healthy Shijiazhuang University". He hoped that the students would further enhance their initiative and strengthen their self-awareness, firmly establish the concept of "health first and lifelong sports", actively participate in sports activities, cultivate sports interests, develop sports habits, and temper their willpower and character, so as to achieve a more brilliant life with a strong body and a sound personality. He also required all teachers and students to further invigorate their spirits, strengthen their sense of responsibility, and truly transform the sports spirit and sports atmosphere into the driving force for implementing the decisions and plans of the university's Party committee. They should actively engage in the new journey of accelerating the construction of a first-class applied university, and solidly and effectively promote the "1396" development strategy to be more visible and tangible, and write a brilliant answer sheet belonging to this generation of Shijiazhuang University people with a fighting spirit and a running posture!
In this sports meeting, the sub-unions of the School of Physical Education, the School of Music and the School of Foreign Languages ranked first, second and third in the total team scores. The First Branch Trade Union of the Administrative Department and the Branch Trade Union of the School of Fine Arts and Design won the team excellence award. The Library Sub-union, the Fourth Sub-union of the administrative Department and the Sub-union of the School of Economics and Management were awarded the Excellent Organization Award.
A total of 4 students broke 5 school sports meeting records at this year' sports meeting. The School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the School of Economics and Management, and the School of Science/Physics won the top three places in the overall results of the 2025 sports meeting. The School of Marxism, the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the School of Future Information Technology, the School of Law and Society, the School of Journalism and Media, the School of Physical Education, the School of Fine Arts and Design, and the Department of Agriculture and Food Science were awarded the Sportsmanship Award. The School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the School of Science/Physics, the School of Future Information Technology, the School of Economics and Management, the School of Chemical Engineering/Biomedical Engineering, the School of Law and Society, the School of Foreign Languages, and the School of Journalism and Media were recognized as advanced collectives in the Sunshine Sports Movement for the 2024-2025 academic year.
