On the morning of April 24th, Vice President Fu Hongbing and his entourage from Beijing Institute of Petrochemical Technology came to our university for investigation and exchange. Vice President Feng Baoqiang attended the event and delivered a speech. Relevant responsible persons from the Office, the Scientific Research Department, the Security Work Department, the Graduate Education Development Center, the School of Economics and Management, the School of Chemical Engineering/Biomedical Engineering, the School of Future Information Technology, the School of Geographical Science and Environment, the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, and the School of Science participated in the investigation and exchange.
At the meeting, Feng Baoqiang extended a warm welcome to Fu Hongbing and his entourage and introduced the basic information of our university, including its history of running the school, enrollment work, talent cultivation, employment work, scientific research, as well as the construction of disciplines and majors. He pointed out that Beijing Institute of Petrochemical Technology has obvious characteristic advantages in disciplines and majors, and its talent cultivation is closely in line with the development needs of the local economic and social sectors. He said that both universities are application-oriented universities undergoing transformation and development, and they are highly consistent in terms of school-running concepts, discipline and major settings, and talent cultivation objectives. In recent years, under the background of the coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, the cooperation between the two universities has become increasingly close and achieved remarkable results. He hopes that the two universities can carry out comprehensive and in-depth cooperation through various forms to seek common development. Fu Hongbing elaborated on the basic situation, disciplines and majors, talent cultivation, and scientific research of Beijing Institute of Petrochemical Technology. He emphasized that jointly building high-quality graduate student source bases and strengthening the joint cultivation of graduate students will provide a broader cooperation platform for the two universities, help improve their capabilities to serve national strategies, and especially inject new vitality into the economic and social development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, providing more solid talent support and intellectual guarantee. Subsequently, Fu Hongbing and Feng Baoqiang signed an agreement and unveiled the plaque on behalf of the two universities.
At the meeting, the two sides had in-depth exchanges on topics such as the joint cultivation of graduate students, discipline construction, and scientific research cooperation. Both sides expressed their hopes to deepen cooperation in aspects such as the sharing of teaching staff, collaborative innovation in scientific research, the construction of disciplines and majors, and the cultivation of high-level talents, so as to achieve complementary educational resources, create a demonstration case of cooperation between universities in Beijing and Hebei, and make positive contributions to serving the coordinated development strategy of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei.
After the meeting, Fu Hongbing and his entourage visited the university history museum and the Shijiazhuang Regional Culture Museum.
