On the morning of April 10, the research group of the Counselors’ Office of the People’s Government of Hebei Province came to our university to carry out a special investigation focusing on “the basic situation and existing problems of promoting the reform of higher education in our province and promoting the integrated development of education, science and technology, and talents”. Chen Liang, Secretary of the Party Committee, Wang Yongqin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the University, and Ji Lihuai, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, accompanied the investigation and attended the symposium.
On behalf of the university, Chen Liang extended a warm welcome to the research group of the Counselors’ Office of the People’s Government of Hebei Province. He introduced the basic situation of the university from four aspects: starting from normal education, seeking transformation and development, demonstrating advantages and characteristics, and striving for the lead in the second entrepreneurship, as well as the achievements made in the university's development following the trend, leveraging on external forces, developing with characteristics, and achieving high-quality development in recent years. With the theme of “Continuously Strengthening Efforts to Improve Quality”, Wang Yongqin specifically reported on the development of the university from aspects such as accelerating the implementation of the three-year transformation of the professional structure, accelerating the establishment of the applied discipline system, accelerating the implementation of the innovation of the talent cultivation mode, accelerating the improvement of the overall level of the teaching staff, accelerating the improvement of the innovation ability of scientific research supply, accelerating the expansion of high-level opening up to the outside world, and accelerating the development of characteristic disciplines. Li Pu, a counselor of the People’s Government of Hebei Province, introduced the purpose and significance of this investigation as well as the situation of the members of the research group. Liu Xiaojun, a counselor of the People’s Government of Hebei Province and the former Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Provincial Government, highly recognized the achievements made by our university in international education. The participants had an exchange on the introduction of high-level talents in universities and other contents.
Before the symposium, the research group visited the Leda International College of Arts, the University History Museum, the Shijiazhuang Regional Culture Museum, the Media Convergence Center, and the Tencent AIGC (Generative Artificial Intelligence) Industrial Base.
The heads of the Academic Affairs Office, the Scientific Research Office, the Graduate Education Development Center, and the International Exchange and Cooperation Center (School of International Exchange) participated in the investigation activities.
