University Leaders Inspect Laboratory Safety Work
Release time:2025-04-10 10:46:55stamp
To further strengthen laboratory safety management, enhance the quality of experimental and practical training teaching, and promote the deep integration of laboratory construction with professional development and local industrial needs, on the afternoon of April 8, President Wang Yongqin and Vice President Li Juan led a special inspection team to conduct a supervisory survey on experimental and practical training work at secondary colleges. The head of the Experimental and Practical Training Center, deans of relevant colleges, vice deans in charge of teaching, laboratory directors, and laboratory staff participated throughout the process.
The university leadership team conducted on-site visits to experimental and practical training teaching venues such as the Hebei Anesthetic Drug Technology Innovation Center, Chemical Safety Training Center, Pharmaceutical Engineering Training Room, Analytical Testing Center, and Metalworking Training Base. They focused on inspecting the operation of the laboratory safety management system, carefully reviewing the storage of hazardous chemicals, equipment operation specifications, and the implementation of emergency plans. They also conducted on-site inspections of key links such as laboratory fire-fighting facilities and major hazard sources.
Wang Yongqin emphasized that laboratory safety serves as the cornerstone of the university's high-quality development, stressing the need to adopt a “zero-tolerance” approach to consolidate the responsibility chain. All laboratories must strictly implement safety regulations, carry out regular hazard inspections and dynamic risk management and control, and resolutely eliminate the occurrence of safety accidents. Concerning laboratory construction, Wang Yongqin proposed a development strategy of “precision-focused, feature-driven” , noting that the extensive model of “uniform resource allocation” should be abandoned. Instead, the university should focus on professional strengths and local industrial demands, pooling resources to cultivate benchmark “flagship laboratories” and comprehensively enhance the institution’s social influence and professional competitiveness.
Li Juan put forward specific requirements from laboratory construction planning and resource allocation, stating that secondary colleges should formulate phased and actionable laboratory construction plans based on the actual development of their disciplines. Through sustained investment that “accumulates small steps into great progress,” the safety environment and equipment conditions of laboratories should be gradually improved. Attention must be paid to the alignment between hardware facilities and teaching needs to ensure that laboratory construction is highly consistent with talent cultivation objectives.
This inspection has laid a solid foundation for optimizing the university’s subsequent laboratory safety management system and comprehensively enhancing safety standards. It has also charted a course for the scientific and standardized development of experimental training room construction.
