On December 7th to 8th, the 2024 Annual conference of the Special Education Professional Committee of the China Eugenics and Child Rearing Association and the “Medical Education Collaboration and Smart Rehabilitation” Seminar, jointly organized by our university, Qizhi School in Yuhua District, Shijiazhuang, and the Autism Diagnosis and Treatment Center of Hebei Children’s Hospital, was successfully held at our university. Vice President Li Juan was invited to attend and give a speech. Cheng Jiashu, Executive Vice President of the China Association for Eugenics and Child Rearing, Li Yuefu, Deputy Secretary General of the China Association for Eugenics and Child Rearing, and Wang Shuquan, Director of the Special Education Professional Committee of the China Association for Eugenics and Child Rearing, attended the conference.
Li Juan delivered a welcome speech. She warmly welcomed all the experts and scholars attending the conference, introducing our university’s development history, scale of operation, disciplinary characteristics, and the many achievements of the special education major in university-enterprise cooperation since the implementation of the “1396” development strategy. She stated that “making special education no longer ordinary and integrating special children into the ordinary” is not only the original intention of our university to establish a special education major, but also our common aspiration as educators. She hoped to take this conference as an opportunity to summarize experiences, exchange ideas, and plan for the future. Through the joint efforts of medical education, we aim to elevate the education and rehabilitation of special children to a new level. Cheng Jiashu highly affirmed the work of the Special Education Professional Committee in his speech and put forward hopes and suggestions for future development. Wang Shuquan gave a work report; Kang Feifei, the person in charge of special education, exchanged and shared with medical and educational colleagues on the topic of “Practical Exploration of Talent Cultivation in Special Education”.
Experts from Beijing Normal University, East China Normal University, Zhongshan Medical University, as well as representatives from nearly a hundred higher education institutions, medical institutions, special education schools, and integrated kindergartens in Shandong, Liaoning, Hunan, Guangdong, and Hebei, and teachers and students from teacher education colleges attended the conference.
The purpose of this annual meeting is to promote the deep integration of education and rehabilitation for special children, explore new models of intelligent rehabilitation, and further improve the quality of education and rehabilitation outcomes for special children. The successful holding of this annual conference at our university is a vivid interpretation of the implementation of the school’s “1396” development strategy, and an important practice for the special education major of the School of Teacher Education to fully leverage the advantages of talent resource aggregation in universities and explore new models and paths for university- enterprise cooperation.
