Recently, the final of the Big Data Competition in the CAIP Information Technology Innovation Track of the 2024 RAICOM (Robot AI Contest) for Robot Developers was held at Hebei Vocational University of Industry and Technology. 26 participating teams from SJZU entered the national competition and won one first prize, two second prizes and 14 third prizes at the national level, ranking among the top among colleges and universities across the country.
RAICOM is a discipline competition sponsored by the Talent Exchange Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It is mainly targeted at college students across the country and has been listed on the ranking list of discipline competitions of the Ministry of Education for many consecutive years. The Big Data competition adheres to the principle of “serving education and industry”. Through practical exercises, it enhances students’ abilities in big data analysis, mining and algorithm programming, and further stimulates students’ innovative spirit and practical abilities. In total, there were 1,344 teams from 110 colleges and universities in 25 provinces participating in this event. After the selection in the provincial competitions, finally 216 teams from 71 colleges and universities entered the national finals to have wonderful contests.
Under the guidance of the Academic Affairs Office, the College of Future Information Technology (shortened in CFIT) in SJZU attaches great importance to the cultivation of students’ innovative and practical abilities, in combination with the talent cultivation orientation of the university. Adhering to the educational concept of “promoting learning, teaching and innovation through competitions”, CFIT has mobilized teachers and students to actively participate in the competitions. Through organized guidance and intensive training before the competitions, teachers and students in CFIT have finally achieved remarkable results with breakthroughs both in the number and quality of awards since participated in the RAICOM competitions, fully demonstrating the achievements of talent cultivation in SJZU.
